Breaking Down Walls Mentorship Program

Each film festival edition, we award four of our selected filmmakers a mentorship with a film professional, such as directors, producers, editors, and others essential to the filmmaking process.

Why Mentorship Matters

In an industry traditionally characterized by gatekeeping and limited access, emerging filmmakers from underrepresented backgrounds often lack the crucial support and guidance they need to navigate their careers. Without mentorship, talented filmmakers may face unnecessary hurdles, stifling their creativity and limiting their professional growth.

Cinema Femme’s mentorship program directly addresses these challenges by pairing rising filmmakers with seasoned industry professionals committed to providing the insight, knowledge, and encouragement essential to career advancement.

Uplifting New Voice

In conjunction with the Cinema Femme Annual Short Film Festival, we award a three-month mentorship and four emerging filmmakers.
