Katie Waters took an interest in acting in school plays at the age of 12. During her senior year in high school, she took a Film editing class that led her to studying Film with a focus in Post Production Sound at Columbia College Chicago, which is where she first learned of Foley in “The Art & Craft of Foley” course. After graduating from college, she interned at various post production companies that gave her an extensive view into post production with a wide range of mediums from advertising, independent film and video games (both AAA and indie). In 2014, NoiseFloor hired Katie as Studio Manager and in 2016 she tried her hand at Producing where she brought solutions to clients to craft the best sound and music tracks for their projects with budget and schedules always in mind.. In 2021, Katie stepped on to the Foley stage after being promoted to Noisefloor’s in-house Foley Artist. Over the years, she’s focused on the craft by cueing, performing, recording, editing, and supervising Foley. Her ability to wear a lot of hats, small town charm, determination, detective and quality control skills are what makes the sound effects she helps create stand out or fit like a glove in the soundtrack. Her work has been nominated in 2018 for a G.A.N.G. award and a MPSE Golden Reel award for cinematics work on Destiny 2. Katie is an active member of the Motion Picture Sound Editors organization and has worked on titles such as: The Stylist, The Christmas Pitch, and Alien: Night Shift.SHOW LESS
