For International Women’s Day, we elevate Ukrainian filmmaker and journalist Elena Rubashevska (Ukrainian/Russian/international translation issues) by sharing our interview. Elena opens up about her journey that began on February 24th, with her escape from Ukraine to Poland. We talked about what she left behind and how her family remains in war-torn Ukraine. She also chats with us about her documentary and her hopes for the future of Ukrainian filmmaking. We are grateful we can be a platform for Elena’s story.

Rebecca Martin is the Managing Editor of Cinema Femme magazine and the Festival Director of Cinema Femme Short Film Fest. She founded her publication in 2018 because she wanted to create a platform for female voices in the film community.
